Privacy Policy

Last updated: 19 October 2026

Your privacy matters to us. This policy explains in plain language what we collect, why, who sees it, and the choices you have.

1. Who we are

JivSetu (“JivSetu”, “we”, “us”) is a mental health organisation offering individual, child and teen, and career counselling, school and college workshops, workplace wellbeing and Employee Assistance Programme (EAP) services, and supervised training for students and new counsellors. This policy applies to this website, www.jivsetu.com, and to the enquiries and bookings made through it.

For any privacy question or request, write to info@jivsetu.com or call 9549612404 or 9311140103.

2. Information we collect

Information you give us. When you use the booking or enquiry form, we collect your name, phone number and email address, the service you want, your preferred session mode (online or in person), preferred date and time, and any short note you choose to add. If you came through a hospital or package, we also collect the hospital or package name and code. Please keep the note brief. Share clinical details with your counsellor in the session instead.

Information you give us by phone, email or WhatsApp. If you contact us directly, we keep the details you share so that we can reply and arrange your service.

Information from counselling, training and workshops. Information shared in sessions, assessments and case notes is handled under our professional confidentiality duties (see section 6). It is not collected through this website.

Technical information. The website uses a small browser storage flag so that the welcome animation plays only once per visit. We do not use advertising cookies, and we have not set up analytics or tracking tools on this website. Like any website, our hosting provider may keep standard server logs, such as IP address and browser type, for security and troubleshooting.

Testimonials. Feedback shown on this site is shared anonymously and only with the client’s permission.

3. How we use your information

  • To respond to your enquiry and arrange, confirm, reschedule or manage your session, workshop, programme or training place.
  • To contact you about that booking by phone, email or message.
  • To deliver and document our services, and to meet professional, ethical and legal obligations.
  • To keep our website and systems secure and working.
  • To improve our services using information that does not identify you.

We do not sell your personal information, and we do not use it for third-party advertising.

4. Your consent

We collect and use your personal information with your consent, which you give when you tick the consent box on our form or contact us for a service. You can withdraw consent at any time by writing to us. Withdrawing consent does not affect what we did before you withdrew, and it may mean we can no longer provide the related service.

5. Who we share it with

We share information only as needed to run our services:

  • Our professionals and staff who need it to arrange or deliver your service, under confidentiality obligations.
  • Service providers that help us operate the website, such as our hosting provider, the form service (Web3Forms) that delivers your booking request to our email, and Google Fonts, which supplies the fonts used on this site. These providers may process data on servers outside India.
  • Hospitals or partner organisations only if you came to us through them and the arrangement requires confirming your booking.
  • Authorities where the law requires it or a court orders it.

6. Confidentiality of counselling

What you share in counselling stays confidential and is not shared without your consent. As in all professional counselling, the usual exceptions apply: where you or someone else is at serious risk of harm, or where the law requires disclosure. Your counsellor will explain this to you at the start of your first session.

For workplace and EAP services, individual conversations remain confidential. Employers receive aggregate, anonymised insights only, never individual details.

For students in training, cases are discussed with mentors in anonymised form, with identities protected.

7. Children and teenagers

Our child and teen services involve a parent or guardian. We seek a parent or guardian’s consent before collecting a child’s personal information or arranging sessions for a child. If you believe a child has sent us information without that consent, please contact us and we will remove it.

8. How long we keep information and how we protect it

We keep personal information only for as long as it is needed for the purpose it was collected, and for as long as professional record-keeping or the law requires. After that we delete it or make it anonymous.

We use reasonable safeguards to protect information, including limiting access to people who need it. No online system is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security. Please avoid putting sensitive clinical details in the website form.

9. Your rights and choices

Under India’s Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023, you may:

  • ask for a summary of the personal information we hold about you and how we use it;
  • ask us to correct or complete information that is wrong or out of date;
  • ask us to erase your information, unless we must keep it by law or professional duty;
  • withdraw your consent;
  • nominate someone to exercise these rights for you if you cannot; and
  • raise a grievance with us.

Write to info@jivsetu.com with your request. We will respond within a reasonable time. If you are not satisfied with our response, you may approach the Data Protection Board of India once it is in place.

Our website may link to other sites, such as WhatsApp. We are not responsible for their privacy practices, so please read their policies.

11. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as our services or the law change. The date at the top shows when it was last updated. Continued use of the website after an update means you accept the updated policy.
